Battery Law

based on EU guideline 2006/66/EG

According to §18 BattG we like to inform you that our batteries are marketed conforming to effective law and also want to point out the following:

  • Our products contain rechargeable batteries (Lithium++).
  • In order to avoid environmental and/or health impact old batteries must be returned to recycling locations operated by communities or returned to the retail market for controlled disposal. This return is regulated by law and totally free of charge for you.
  • Batteries must only be returned discharged and, as far as LiPo batteries are concerned, their terminals should be covered for disposal. In order to fully discharge a LiPo battery, store the battery in salty water (e.g. 5 table spoons salt dissolved in 2.6 gallons (10 liter) of water) for a couple of hours. Discharge must only take place outdoor because flammable gases (hydrogen) can result.
  • Because of recycling old batteries, valuable raw materials like zinc, iron, nickel, etc. can be regained.
  • Batteries mounted in devices can be easily removed for disposal.
  • The "crisscrossed trash can" symbol on batteries means that disposal in residual waste is forbidden by law! Additional signs for lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd) and mercury (Hg) mean that these materials contained in these batteries exceed limits given by law. This is not the case in batteries marketed by us.
